#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative to combat a situation such as struggling to self promote in a job interview, meeting or even a social situation, where you had to talk about your achievements? Founder Anna first realized in 2015 when she was taking part in a women-only workshop at Google the many women struggle to self promote. One by one, they were called up to talk about what it was that made them remarkable and So many of us struggled.

The question was posed. Why do so many gifted women and underrepresented groups found it hard to talk openly about their accomplishments? Eager to learn more, they did some research. They discovered a vast body of literature proving what we intuitively knew: women and other under-represented groups often struggle with self-promotion, and are conditioned from a young age not to speak openly about their achievements.
